Colorado River

Colorado River fly fishing

Float Texas's Colorado River — clear water, scenic limestone canyons, and lively fish all in a single day on the oars.

The River

A Texas float trip you won't forget.

The Colorado River winds through some of the most beautiful country in Texas. We float productive stretches looking for bass, sunfish, and other native species — a perfect change of pace from saltwater days on the coast.

We fish from a Hogg Island Skiff powered by a jet motor, letting us reach skinny stretches and back sections of river that traditional boats simply can't get to. We work topwater, streamers, and nymph rigs depending on the conditions. Trips are designed for 1–2 anglers and built around your skill level.

  • Hogg Island Skiff w/ jet motor
  • 1–2 anglers per trip
  • All flies provided
  • Loaner rods available
  • Cold drinks on the water
  • Mid-trip riverside lunch (full day)
Booking spring through fall. Limited dates — reserve early.

The Colorado

Colorado River fly fishing in Texas

A Texas river fishing experience like no other

The Texas Colorado River winds through limestone canyons, cypress-lined banks, and some of the prettiest country in the state. Our Colorado River fly fishing Texas trips target Guadalupe bass, largemouth, sunfish, and the occasional surprise — all from a Hogg Island Skiff with a jet motor that opens up skinny, hard-to-reach water this river is famous for.

Texas river fishing opportunities

If you've spent your fishing life chasing trout out west or redfish on the coast, a warm-water river day on the Colorado is a perfect change of pace. We fish topwater poppers in the slicks, streamers along the rock walls, and nymph rigs in the deeper pools. Guadalupe bass are aggressive, jump like crazy, and eat the fly with real conviction — they're easily one of the most fun fish in the state on a 5- or 6-weight.

Guided river trips for 1–2 anglers

Every trip is run for 1–2 anglers, which means real water time and real coaching. As a full-time Texas fishing guide, we know which stretches fish best at which flows, and we adjust the float each day to put you on the most productive water. All flies are tied for the local fishery, loaner rods are available, and full-day trips include a riverside lunch in some of the prettiest country the Hill Country has to offer.
